This series came directly out of my work in medical and anatomical illustration. These pieces are composed of six to 12 layers of silk organza printed with a 3D-derived rendering of a human form, including internal organs, showing different angles of the figure. The layers of silk are held together with encaustic, an ancient painting medium composed of beeswax and damar resin.
